Outdoor Explore 101: Tree Identification

5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Clifton

Description

Trees are a part of our natural environment that we take for granted, but have you ever wondered what kind of tree you were looking at? In this class, learn what traits to look for and how to use available resources to identify that tree.

This is the in-person, walking portion of the class! We will meet at the Clifton branch library and proceed into Burnet Woods park to observe trees up close. The route will stick to paved sidewalks and roads, but there are some gentle hills so consider your own ability. Due to the off-site nature of the class, it is intended for adults.

All you need to bring is yourself, but you may want to take notes, photos, or sketch along the way.

The other portion of this class is on Tuesday, September 21, and will be a virtual Zoom class with a photo presentation on the topic. You will need to register for that class separately here. Feel free to attend both or either!
