Join the library and New Leaf Kitchen for “Nourishing Minds and Bodies," a hands-on youth program that lets children participate in their own food preparation. This cooking and food education program helps children understand where food comes from, teaches skills on how to prepare it, makes healthy eating fun, and encourages food exploration with all 5 senses. New Leaf Kitchen has a ’root-up’ approach to food education that teaches how to source, prepare, and consume foods in ways that will positively impact the future of our health, environment, and economy. Every child will make their own healthy snack which can be eaten in class or brought home. Laminated recipe cards included.
*Please let us know of any allergies at least 3 days prior to the event so we can accommodate.
