Grants Research Lab - Introduction to Foundation Directory Online

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Deer Park

Description

This two-hour class demonstrates how to use Foundation Directory, the most comprehensive prospect research tool for fundraisers, with over 240,000 grantmaker profiles. Participants learn how to search for grantmakers who have funded organizations working on causes and with communities similar to those they serve. If possible, attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own laptop. If not, no worries at all! There may be a small number of laptops available for checkout with your library card, though there is no guarantee. The goal is to make the session as interactive as possible. Roughly half of the session will be instruction, and the remaining half will find attendees using the database to actively find funding opportunities.

This class is brought to you in partnership with Candid, a nonprofit that helps other nonprofits serve their communities. As a Candid community member, we offer Candid’s key tools including GuideStar and Foundation Directory.

This in person session will take place in the Deer Park Branch Library's Meeting Room A.
