This book is a breath of fresh air in a type of literature dominated by coming out narratives. Now, I like coming out narratives just fine, but it's frustrating when a majority of books staring trans characters are predominately about them coming out. It's been done and I want more from fiction with trans characters. This book gave the the more I was looking for.
Danielle Tozer is trans, but she hasn't told anyone yet. When Dreadnought, the world's most powerful superhero dies in front of her, Danny's world changes forever. Dreadnought passes his powers to her, making her one of the most powerful people on the planet.
This book can get pretty dark, but it doesn't feel dark without reason. It's intense and action packed and so very good.
If you like superheroes, you will like this book.
